Zadovoljstvo nam je da vam uputimo poziv za učešće na 14. međunarodnoj interdisciplinarnoj konferenciji posvećenoj jeziku i književnosti, pod nazivom Jezik, književnost, alternative, koja će se održati 15. i 16. aprila 2021. godine u organizaciji Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Nišu.
Ovo je ponovljeni poziv, koji je već bio upućen 2019. godine, za konferenciju koja je trebalo da se održi aprila 2020. godine. Situacija sa pandemijom kovida-19 nam tada nije dala mogućnosti za bilo kakve alternative pa smo planiranu konferenciju morali odložiti. Međutim, suočeni sa izazovom, nismo odustali od organizacije naših tradicionalnih skupova sa opštim nazivom Jezik, književnost, …, pa će konferencija 2021. godine, potpuno u skladu sa svojim nazivom, Jezik, književnost, alternative, imati drugačiji, alternativni format i biće organizovana kao onlajn konferencija.
Više od jedne decenije naše aprilske konferencije sa opštim nazivom Jezik, književnost,... imale su u fokusu ne samo teme relevantne iz ugla lingvističkih i književnoteorijskih nauka, kao što su značenje, diskurs, vreme, prostor, teorija i kontekst, već i razne značajne društvene fenomene kao što su politika, globalizacija, identitet, promene, komunikacija, vrednosti i marginalizacija. Iako su konferencije uvek bile tematski koherentne, to ni u kom slučaju nije podrazumevalo uniformnost teorijskih i metodoloških pristupa, već se, naprotiv, težilo da se date teme sagledaju iz što više različitih, alternativnih perspektiva. Upravo želeći da podržimo alternativne perspektive, koje naročito nakon iskustava sa reakcijama na fenomen kovida-19 postaju veoma aktuelne i nasušno potrebne, tema našeg skupa ostaje Jezik, književnost, alternative.
U eseju Poetry and Commitment pesnikinja Adrijen Rič slavi poetsku imaginaciju, kojom probijamo stege nametnutog stava da ,,ne postoji alternativa“: ,,The imagination’s roads open before us, giving the lie to that slammed and bolted door, that razor-wired fence, that brute dictum ‘There is no alternative’.” Imaginacija, kreativnost i traganje za alternativama svakako da nisu odlike samo poezije, već i književnosti uopšte, a i nauke. U naukama, pogotovo društvenim i humanističkim, nisu retke promene paradigme, manje ili više radikalni zaokreti, ,,pomeranja klatna“ od formalnijih i apstraktnijih pristupa ka onim više funkcionalnim, šire kontekstualno uslovljenim i društveno kritički angažovanijim. Kao što mogućnost izbora između alternativnih formi izražavanja nije samo stvar stila, tako je i mogućnost alternativnih pristupa nekom jezičkom ili književnom fenomenu nužnost koja obezbeđuje bolje i kvalitetnije uvide. A kako kaže Teodor Adorno u zbirci eseja Minima moralia: ,,Kvalitet se određuje na osnovu dubine kojom neki rad ugrađuje u sebe alternative i tako ovladava njima.“
Cilj konferencije Jezik, književnost, alternative jeste da razmotri i istraži povezanost između jezika, književnosti i alternativa u okviru ovih oblasti. To može uključivati kritičko razmatranje različitih alternativnih teorijskih i metodoloških pristupa pitanjima iz oblasti jezika, književnosti i studija kulture, alternative koje književna dela nude vladajućim ideološkim pogledima na svet, alternative književno-jezičkim kanonima, analize alternativnih književnih formi ili alternativnih jezičkih konstrukcija, ko i druge teme koje se bave alternativama u širokom smislu u datim oblastima.
Ovogodišnji onlajn format konferencije podrazumeva da će učesnici snimiti svoja izlaganja/prezentacije u trajanju od 15 minuta, a svi snimci će biti postavljeni na sajtu konferencije 10. aprila 2021. Sama konferencija će se realizovati kao video konferencija, gde će učesnici sumirati svoja izlaganja (5 minuta), uz predviđeno vreme za diskusiju od 60 minuta po sesiji. Detaljno tehničko uputstvo o ovom aspektu konferencije biće poslato sredinom februara 2021. kolegama čiji apstrakti budu prihvaćeni za izlaganje.
Jezici konferencije su srpski i engleski.

Učesnici koji su se već prijavili za skup JKA 2020. godine i dobili potvrdu da im je apstrakt prihvaćen, ukoliko žele da učestvuju 2021. potrebno je samo da to potvrde mejlom na adresu konferencije, sa naznakom ‘potvrda prijave’, najkasnije do 1. decembra 2020.
Novopristigli apstrakti biće odabrani na osnovu saobraznosti sa temom konferencije, akademske vrednosti i originalnosti teme, teorijskog i metodološkog pristupa i očekivanih rezultata. Potvrda o prihvatanju apstrakta biće poslata autorima do sredine februara 2021. godine. Po završetku konferencije i procesa recenziranja, izabrani radovi biće, kao i do sada, objavljeni u okviru međunarodnog tematskog zbornika radova.
Kotizacija u iznosu od 30 evra (koja se može platiti i u dinarskoj protivvrednosti na dan uplate) obuhvata troškove organizacije i štampanje zbornika odabranih radova.

LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, ALTERNATIVES 2021
On behalf of the LLA Organising Committee, it is our pleasure to send you the Call for Papers containing information on the forthcoming international interdisciplinary conference Language, Literature, Alternatives, organized by the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš, which will be held on April 15 and 16, 2021.
We are repeating the Call, already sent in 2019, for the conference that was supposed to take place in April 2020. The situation with the covid-19 pandemic left us then with no alternatives, so the planned conference had to be postponed. However, we rose to the challenge of continuing the tradition of our conferences with the general title Language, Literature,…, so the 2021 event, completely in accordance with its title Language, Literature, Alternatives will have a different, alternative format, and will be organized as an online conference.
For over a decade, our conferences under the encompassing title Language, Literature,... focused not only on the topics that are relevant for linguistic and literary studies, such as meaning, discourse, time, space, theory and context, but also on the socially significant phenomena such as politics, globalization, identity, changes, communication, values and marginalization. Although the conferences have always been thematically coherent, this never meant the uniformity of theoretical and methodological approaches; on the contrary, the aim was to view the given topics from many different, alternative perspectives. In an attempt to support such alternative perspectives, which, especially after experiencing the reactions to the covid-19 phenomenon, have become particularly relevant and vitally necessary, the topic of our conference remains Language, Literature, Alternatives.
In her essay Poetry and Commitment, the poet Adrienne Rich celebrates the power of poetic imagination to open up different vistas: “The imagination’s roads open before us, giving the lie to that slammed and bolted door, that razor-wired fence, that brute dictum ‘There is no alternative’.” Imagination, creativity and the search for alternatives are certainly not only the characteristics of poetry, but of literature in general, as well as of science. In sciences, and in social sciences and humanities in particular, there are paradigm changes, a more or less radical turns, ’pendulum swings’ from the formal and abstract approaches towards the more functional ones, more context dependent or with a broader and more critical social orientation. As the possibility of choice among alternative forms of expression is more than a mere matter of style, so is the possibility of alternative approaches to a linguistic or a literary phenomenon a necessity that provides the better quality of insights. And, as Theodor Adorno says in the collection of essays Minima Moraila: “Quality is decided by the depth at which the work incorporates the alternatives within itself, and so masters them.“
The aim of the conference Language, Literature, Alternatives is to explore and discuss the relationship between language, literature and alternatives within their contexts. This can include the critical examining of various alternative theoretical and methodological approaches in linguistics, literary theory and culture studies, the alternatives that literary works offer to the dominant ideological views of the world, alternatives to literary and language cannons, analyses of alternative literary forms or language constructions, as well as other topics dealing with alternatives in the given disciplines.
The online format of the 2021 conference means that the participants will record their 15-minute presentations, and all the recordings will be available at the conference website starting from April 10th 2021. The conference itself will be held as a video conference, where the participants will give a brief 5-minute summary of their presentation, with the 60-minute discussion per session. The detailed technical guidelines regarding this aspect of the conference will be sent by mid-February, to the colleagues whose abstracts get accepted.
Conference languages are English and Serbian.

The participants who already applied for the LLA conference in spring 2020 and received a confirmation that their abstract had been accepted, if they want to take part at the 2021 conference, should only confirm it by mail to the conference address , by December 1, 2020, subject ‘application confirmation’.
The submitted abstracts will be reviewed and assessed according to their compatibility with the conference topic, academic merit, originality of the theme, approach and research. Notification of acceptance will be sent by mid-February 2021. A selection of papers will be published after the conference in a peer-reviewed Conference Proceedings.
The conference fee is 30 Euros (also payable in dinars), covering organisational costs and the costs of the conference proceedings publication.
